When did you first start singing?

I was about 12 years old. I remember it clearly because I was so nervous I sang with my back to the audience and it was a Wednesday night Prayer Meeting. Sabbath Service was a bit overwhelming.
 
What gospel artist inspired you the most growing up and who inspires you now?

Andre Crouch and the Disciples and The BlendWrights  
 
What are some of the advantages of being an independent artist?

Are there any? Not sure if there are. I really enjoy being free to sing what I am inspired to sing. Not sure if that would not be the case if I was signed to a Major Label.
 
Do you get nervous before you minister?

Sometimes. Can't say that there are any particular feelings that I have before I sing. But I am usually very excited.
 
Where do you see Christian music headed in the years to come?

It has blended so much with Mainstream Music. I am not sure. I am concerned about it actually.
 
How do you balance family life with your career?

Very carefully!
 
How long have you been an independent artist?

From the very beginning. My first album came out in 2002.
 
What Christian artist would you most like to sing a duet with?

WOW! I have never thought of that before... I have no idea.
 
What is your inspiration for writing a new song?

My Life... it's great material!!
 
How did you feel when you heard your music for the first time on the radio?

Well - to answer this question I must give some background. Hearing myself on the radio has never really been a big deal. I was an Air Personality for years at several Radio stations across the country. So to hear my Voice on the radio has been something that I have been used to for years.
 
What's a special moment that you and God have shared this year?

I was really low on money. I had no idea what to do. I prayed and then a few hours later my phone rang and it was a fan that somehow got my number. He shared how much my ministry had touched his life and he wanted to do something for me. I wasn't sure what to say. He kept asking me to please allow him to do something for me. So he asked what did I need. I then told him that things were rough and I needed to take care of some debt. He sent me $1000 and begged me to take it with no strings attached. He said "this is how much your ministry has touched my life". 
 
Tell us about your ministry's goal in partnering with World Vision?

My goal with World Vision is to get 1000 children adopted. It is our responsibility to help these children. They are my sisters and brothers and I can't turn my back on them.
